Petit Four
Petit fours are small, elegant bite-sized cakes with a delicate crumb, smooth chocolate coating, and a melt-in-your-mouth finish. The name comes from the French petit four — literally "small oven" — referring to the lower temperature used to bake these miniature confections. A staple of Middle Eastern dessert platters, petit four cookies and cakes are served alongside baklava and maamoul at Eid celebrations, weddings, and family gatherings across the Arab world.
